The business improvement company, based at Kitemark Court, initially raised more than £12,000 by donating £10 for every delegate training course booked over a three-month period.

But they pushed the fundraising drive to a staggering £15,000 through bake sales, personalised Christmas cards, a quiz - and by donating 945 items of warm clothing.

The clothes were delivered to homeless people living in the city by BSI employees - who also volunteered for Crisis - and the organisation gave £945 to match the number of items donated.

Chris Wright, commercial training director at BSI said: “We are extremely proud of everyone at BSI who has been involved with fundraising for Crisis to help tackle one of the most important problems facing so many people in the UK today.

"We all see for ourselves the devastation homelessness causes, so it’s fantastic that BSI has provided support to Crisis to help fund the move of people into secure, safe housing and employment.”

Mayaz Rahman, head of partnerships at Crisis said: “Our work is only possible because of the generosity of supporters like BSI, who donate vital funds, skills and resources, and share our determination to make sure everyone has a safe and stable home. We’re delighted to have worked with BSI in 2019 and would like to thank them for their support.”
