Tributes paid to caring Milton Keynes sixth form student who has tragically died days after being taken ill

Wolverton's Radcliffe School head Paula Lawson made the sad announcement about Emmie-Rose O’Brien on the school's Facebook page today.

She wrote: "I am sorry to share with you this morning the sad news that Emmie-Rose O’Brien in Year 12 passed away yesterday morning after suddenly being taken ill earlier this week."

Mrs Lawson added: "I spoke with Emmie-Rose’s mother this morning, who wanted me to share the news with you all, but has naturally asked for privacy at this time. She asked for everyone to remember Emmie-Rose as the loving and well-liked, caring young woman she was.

We are devastated at this loss and send sincere condolences and thoughts to Emmie-Rose’s family and friends at this heart breaking time. The Radcliffe School is a close-knit and caring community and we will pull together to help support everyone during the difficult days ahead.

"I am sure you will all join me in sending our best wishes and thoughts to Emmie-Rose’s family and friends at this sad time."

Mrs Lawson said support has been made available to students who have been particularly affected by the "terrible loss".
