Two attractions in MK have been named as tourist hotspots in a prestigious awards ceremony.

Bletchley Park already holds the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 and has now once again reached the finals of the Beautiful South Tourism Awards.

The heritage site is in the running for the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year award.

The second finalist, this time for the New Tourism Business Award, is the city’s All Electric Community Boat, Electra, which offers canal cruises around MK.

The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards celebration on December 12 at The Grand Brighton, hosted by Toby Anstis, one of the nation’s best-loved radio and TV presenters.

Fran Downton, Chief Executive of Tourism South East, said: “A huge congratulations to all our finalists. All have been rewarded for achieving the very highest standards in our industry.”

Meanwhile, Bletchley Park has this week marked the completion of its biggest refurbishment project to date – a massive £13 million, three-phase project, to open up wartime buildings at the heart of the World War Two (WW2) site for the very first time.

It has seen Block E refurbished and repurposed to create two new resources, the Block E Learning Centre and the Fellowship Auditorium, which is a state-of-the-art, 250-seat event space.

Next week the venue will be put to the test by hosting 100 government leaders and experts from all over the globe for the world’s first summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI) security.
