Two new Covid-19 cases confirmed today in Milton Keynes

Two more people have tested positive for coronavirus in MK over the past 24 hours.

This brings the city's total to 889 since the start of the pandemic. Nine of these have come since Monday.

This increase over four days is the biggest MK has seen for several weeks.

Nationally the number of new cases remains high, rising from 892 positive tests yesterday to 950 today.

Today's UK death toll was down to 49, bringing the total to 46,413.

Throughout the UK, there are currently 1,118 Covid patients in hospital and 73 of these are in ventilator beds.

The number of coronavirus patients admitted yesterday in the UK was 142.
