What sick person did this to the trees in Central Milton Keynes?

A mindless vandal has snapped in half an entire row of young trees lining one of the city centre boulevards.

The lovingly-planted trees have all been very deliberately broken at the same point, half way down the trunk, in Silbury Boulevard.

The affected saplings, which were all sprouting ready for Spring growth, are close to the new Solstice apartments block, opposite John Lewis.

It appears the vandalism took place some time over the weekend.

The broken trees

One member of the public said today: "I saw this horrible thing early this morning. I am really shocked by this behaviour."

Because the trees are so young and and have been snapped so far down their trunks, it is unlikely they will ever grow back fully.

Criminal damage is an arrestable offence and it is hoped CCTV in the area will pick up the culprit. If you have any information, call police on 101.
