Online toy retailer, Bargain Max, has designed a new creative competition ahead of World Book Day on March 4.

With the country in lockdown and everybody stuck at home, Bargain Max are encouraging families to get creative and craft their own version of their favourite fictitious hero for World Book Day.

Using whatever resources are available at home and any art or craft of your choosing children, up to the age of 16, are being asked to design their own version of their favourite book character.

The competition closing date is February 17 at 23:59 PM, which will be followed by a shortlisting stage before the five winners are finally chosen.

Examples for how you might want to bring your favourite literary characters to life include: using lego to build Hogwarts with Harry Potter centre stage, or use tin foil found in your kitchen to create the Tinman from Wizard of Oz.

A spokesperson for Bargain Max said: “We have launched an amazing nationwide competition to make World Book Day 2021 extra special for children across the UK who cannot celebrate at school. We know how hard families are working to keep their children entertained during this lockdown and families right across the country are coming together to put children’s education first.
