Thames Valley Police is appealing for information following a robbery at a garden centre in Woburn Sands this morning.

A 34-year-old employee at Frosts Garden Centre was opening up the premises in Newport Road at just after 6.30am, when he was approached by a man dressed all in black with his face covered.

The man threatened the employee and forced him at gunpoint to open up an area of the premises where the safe is kept. He then stole an unknown quantity of cash and fled the scene by forcing his way out of a fire exit.

It is believed he ran off across fields in the direction of Wavendon Gate.

The employee, who was left shaken but unharmed following the incident, described the offender as 5ft 7ins and of a stocky build.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Luke Grove, based at Milton Keynes CID, said: “This was a very frightening ordeal for the victim who thankfully was not harmed. His hands were bound during the incident but he managed to free himself to raise the alarm.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw a man walking or running across fields in the area of the garden centre, either before or following the incident, to come forward.

“We have limited information on his appearance as he was wearing black clothes and had his face covered.”

If you can help, please call Det Sgt Grove via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101. If you don’t want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
