Police appeal in Milton Keynes after cyclist is hit over the head and robbed

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information following a robbery in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

At around 1pm, the victim, aged 24, was riding his moped along Stratford Road towards Lower Weald when he waved a car to manoeuvre past him, as he was travelling slowly.

The victim was overtaken by a red Ford Focus which then stopped and blocked the road.

The driver of the car then got out of the car and hit the victim over the head with a weapon similar to a baseball bat, causing the victim to fall to the ground. A passenger in the car then helped the driver to take the victim’s bag, which contained cash, fishing items and brake pads.

The offenders then got back into the car and drove away.

The driver of the Focus is of mixed race, in his twenties, slim, around 5ft 9ins and was wearing a navy baseball cap, navy blue Adidas tracksuit which had three white stripes along the arms.

The passenger in the Focus is white, aged in his twenties, slim, around 6ft, with dark brown or black short hair. He was wearing a white polo shirt with dark or navy jeans.

“We are investigating this attack – criminality will not be tolerated in Milton Keynes,” said Det Con Wendy Cissell.
