Police hunt cat flap burglar

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary in which a man tried to gain entry to a house through a cat flap.

The incident happened at 11.45pm on Thursday in Chadwick Lodge, Eaglestone, when the offender attempted to gain entry to the property through the cat flap of the rear door.

The homeowner disturbed the man and he ran away.

The offender is described as a white man, 5ft 10ins tall, wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey trousers.
