Police are hunting the driver of a car that failed to stop at the scene of a collision yesterday.
At around 5.30pm, two vehicles collided on the H9 Groveway at the junction with the V8 Marlborough Street, on the roundabout between Tinkers Bridge and Netherfield.
A silver BMW Mini sustained significant damage to the passenger side and the driver, a 24-year-old man, sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
The other vehicle, believed to be a silver Chrysler 300 car, did not stop at the scene and drove off towards Tinkers Bridge.
Sgt Simon Hills said: “The vehicle which did not stop at the scene would have sustained significant front end damage, from what appears to have been a relatively high speed collision.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident occur, or who may have knowledge of the whereabouts of the silver Chrysler or the driver after the collision.
“This incident occurred at rush hour and therefore the road network was busy and it is likely there were witnesses.
“The driver of the Mini escaped with minor injuries, and it was lucky they did not have a passenger on board or the consequences could have been far more serious.”
