McCarthy & Stone believe it has resolved four issues that caused council planners to throw out an application in May – and they’ve now lodged a renewed scheme with Milton Keynes Council.
The 6,395 sq-metres of land off Barnsdale Drive have been eyed up for a retirement homes since at least 2014 when Ideal Care Homes saw two planning applications refused.

“The proposed development would have economic benefits for Westcroft and Milton Keynes with residents having a propensity to rely upon local shops, services and facilities,” say submissions to MK planners.
The land is behind the big Morrisons supermarket and close to the Nut & Squirrel pub.
In May, council planners rejected the most recent application saying it would be detrimental to the character of the area.

The latest application is due to be decided by November 24 and is available for comment on MK Council’s planning website.
