A former sheltered housing site in Milton Keynes is being demolished to make way for 60 new affordable family homes.

The derelict Cripps Lodge site in Netherfield is being demolished by Total Reclaims Demolition Ltd (TRD) to make way for the new homes.

TRD posted a video on Twitter today (Thursday, September 10) showing workers on site demolishing the area.

This project comes after the neighbouring former sheltered housing site, Buckland Lodge, was demolished in June to make way for 200 new affordable council homes.

Part of Milton Keynes estate is bulldozed to make way for 200 new homesWhile it is subject to planning permission, homes at Cripps Lodge are likely to include supported living features for elderly residents, including wheelchair friendly homes and emergency call alarms.

Milton Keynes Council has previously said it plans to build 500 affordable council homes for families in MK over the next two years.
