MP expenses 2020: here’s how much politicians in Milton Keynes claimed last year

The most expenses claims made by Milton Keynes’ two Conservative MPs

Like their constituents, the coronavirus pandemic has meant MPs have had to adapt to a new way of working, often setting up office in their homes rather than Parliament.

But that’s not stopped them claiming thousands of pounds in expenses.

Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority figures for the 2020-21 financial year show MPs across the UK had claimed over £9 million as of January 6th.

The JPIMedia Data Unit has analysed the figures to find out how much has been claimed by members in Milton Keynes

The two MPs for Milton Keynes claimed £35,876.15 between them, with Ben Everitt, MP for Milton Keynes South, claiming £20,700.90, and Iain Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes North, claiming £15,175.25.

In total they made 119 claims over the nine months since April, Mr Stewart made 65 claims, and Mr Everitt made 55.
