A Green party candidate believes her party will get “more votes than ever before” in this year’s general election.
Jennfier Marklew, who is running for MK North, told the Citizen: “I expect the Green Party to get more votes than we have ever got before.
“I also expect us to start building a really strong position for the next election so we can do something really fantastic in 2020 and also in the intervening years in the council.”
Her opponent David Reilly, for UKIP, discussed his chances in the race. He said: “I don’t think it would be unreasonable for me to be looking at third place. I said to myself, I’d be content to keep my deposit, and I’d be euphoricic if I reached double figures in terms of percentage.”
