IT was a British Grand Prix to remember for Daniel Tripp as he got to meet his hero Lewis Hamilton.
The eight-year-old from Milton Keynes was a VIP guest of none other than F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone on Friday.
Daniel had a rare benign tumour called an ossifying fibroma which was removed at Great Ormond Street Hospital. So far, this has resulted in Daniel losing half his top jaw and teeth and he needs frequent check-ups and CT scans to check whether his tumour is reoccurring. He will also need reconstructive surgery when fully grown.
Daniel was treated to a tour of the pitlane during Friday’s wet practice sessions before he got to meet his hero, McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton.
