A CITY restaurant is putting on a Halloween treat for guests next week – pumpkin curry.

Wolverton based VerandahTalk will be creating a range of special dishes based on the seasonal treat.

From Wednesday, October 31 to Sunday, November 4, the pumpkin curries will be available as part of the restaurant’s menu.

Guests will be able to tuck into Pumpkin Naan bread, Pumpikin chickpea and coconut curry and Tangy Mathangya Pulingari curry.

Pulingari literally translates as ‘tangy curry’ and is a base for many curries which can be cooked with different vegetables - including Mathangya, meaning pumpkin. Cubed pumpkin will be roasted and added to the curries to create a taste sensation perfect for Halloween.

The Indian restaurant, based in Stratford Road, Wolverton, will then donate the used pumpkins to children at Radcliffe School for them to decorate.

Owner Taj Raja said: “As a restaurant we love to have fun and use different ingredients.

”Pumpkin is very popular with our veggie guests and we enjoy preparing extra fun for the kids at the local school.

”Pumpkin adds a great texture to a spicy curry dish.”
