'Punches thrown at man' who has bike stolen in Milton Keynes redway robbery

At around 4.40pm on Monday, April 2, a man was riding his bike along the redway from Walnut Tree into Old Farm Park when he rode past two teenagers who started to be abusive.

The man stopped riding and the offenders demanded he hand over his money and his bike.

One of the offenders then pulled out a knife and lunged at the man but missed. The offenders then started throwing punches at the man.

During this altercation, the victim sustained a swollen left eye and lip, two cuts in his mouth and bruised ribs. He received treatment for his injuries at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

The offenders also took the victim’s bicycle which is described as an Apollo Blue and White Men’s Mountain bike.

The first offender is described as a slim white boy in his late teens, short in height with light brown hair which is shaved on the sides and longer on top. He was wearing grey or black trousers with white shoes.

The second offender is described as a taller white boy in his late teens, around 5ft 8ins, with blue eyes and shaved hair which is either blonde or ginger. He was wearing a black jacket.

Investigating officer, detective constable Edward Blackburn said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of this redway and may have witnessed this incident. This incident could have been far worse so I urge anyone who has any information that may assist our investigation to get in touch."

Two 17-year-old boys from Milton Keynes have been arrested in connection with the offence and released under investigation.
