City firefighters are running free two-hour road safety sessions next month designed to help drivers become more roadwise and sharpen up their skills.
There are four dates to choose from; Sunday, November 4, Monday, November 12, Tuesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 28. Each classroom-based session will run from 7pm to 9pm at Great Holm Fire Station.
Firefighters will guide people through taking care at junctions and roundabouts, understanding the laws that apply to you, and what to do if you see an accident or are involved in one.
They will also teach people how to give emergency first aid, how to react when an emergency vehicle wants to pass, and what to do in the event of a breakdown.
They will also encourage everyone who comes along to ask as many questions as possible.
Crew Manager Jim Hutchison said: “We believe these sessions will help drivers gain or develop the confidence and skills they need for a lifetime of safe driving.
“Modern-day driving can be a daunting experience, regardless of how long ago you passed your test.”
Up to 20 people can take part on each day. Light refreshments will be served and road safety goodie bags will be handed out.
