Quakers in Milton Keynes welcome visitors to open day

An open day is being held at the Quaker Centre at 1 Oakley Gardens, Downhead Park, MK15 9BH, on Saturday, September 8, from noon to 4pm.

Quakers are a faith group committed to working for equality and peace and visitors to the event can meet members and find out how their faith translates into action.

The Quaker Centre, as well as being home for the city Quakers, runs lots of other groups, classes and events. There will be free taster sessions during the open event. The centre runs beginners yoga, craft groups, mindfulness groups, paper crafts, a vision boards workshop, sleep and dreaming exploration.

The Quaker Centre can also offer information on Still Green Co-Housing.

Visitors to the open day can enjoy tea and cakes, a barbecue, a charity book sale, craft activities, and children are welcome too.

The Quakers date back to 1647 when George Fox, from Leicestershire believed that God’s light is within every person and travelled the country preaching.
