Women are being urged to take part in this year’s Race for Life on June 30.

The popular race, which sees women raising money for Cancer Research UK, will be moving back to Campbell Park after previously being held at The Bowl. Entrants will then have the choice of walking, jogging or running either the 5km or 10km route.

Gemma Kitching, Race for Life event manager, said: “Race for Life has an unforgettable atmosphere with women of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness abilities coming together to make a positive difference to the lives of people touched by cancer.

“They motivate and inspire each other to complete the 5km or 10km route with many simply walking round, chatting and having fun.The website opens for entries in January but it’s really important that women mark the date in their calendars now and make a note that the venue is different to last year.”

Last year 2,415 women took part in the 5km event and 802 in the afternoon 10km, but organisers will be hoping for a bigger turn-out so that as much money as possible can be raised.

Gemma said: “More than one in three of us will develop cancer. We need the continued support of everyone in Milton Keynes to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
