RADIO 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw is set to perform at Wonderworld this weekend.

The new music show presenter will appear at the Xscape based club on Sunday (August 26).

He will be performing a set in Wonderworld’s brand new state of the art room.

Grimshaw currently presents the 10pm new music show on BBC Radio 1 every Monday to Thursday. He also co-hosts with Annie Mac on Sundays at the same time.

He will be taking over the prestigious role as the Breakfast Show host for the station in September.

Born in Oldham in 1984, at just 27 years old, Grimshaw is a young man very much in demand. Always passionate about music, Nick’s first step into broadcasting was on student radio while studying Communications & Business Studies at the University of Liverpool.

In 2006 Channel 4 spotted Nick and at the age of 22 he was signed up as a presenter for E4 Music and the Channel 4 morning show – Freshly Squeezed.

Having cut his teeth in national broadcasting at Channel 4, Grimshaw was signed up by BBC2 where he co-hosted three series of their youth music show – Sound, alongside Annie Mac.

In 2008 he was given his first solo Radio 1 show, when he started presenting the Weekend Breakfast show. Then in 2009 he was offered the new music slot, which he has hosted for three years.

Wonderworld in Milton Keynes has the ability to move the DJ Booth to different points in the Tomorrow room, meaning the DJ can be among the crowd on the dance floor or for their more dramatic acts, on stage.

General Manager of Wonderworld, Jay Davidson, said: “We are really excited to be holding a night hosted by Nick Grimshaw, especially just before he takes over the breakfast show on Radio 1.

“Sundays prior to a Bank Holiday are always fantastic in Milton Keynes, so this is going to be very special indeed.”

Tickets are available online now at and start at £6 and the party goes on until 4.30am
