Radio legend '˜Diddy' hits the jackpot on a visit to Milton Keynes

Broadcasting across the group’s eight Beacon Bingo Clubs, 145 Cashino adult gaming centres and a number of seaside family entertainment centres, David spoke about his 57 years working in radion, and praised customers and staff for their efforts in helping to raise over £500,000 for CHIPS – a charity founded by the UK gaming industry which provides specialised powered wheelchairs for young people with severe mobility problems.

Earlier this year Cashino and Beacon Bingo reached the significant milestone of presenting 100 custom built wheelchairs to children up and down the country since they began working with the CHIPS charity in 2005.

Speaking about the visit ‘Diddy’ David Hamilton said: “I have really meeting the team and engaging with the listeners. In particular, it has been great recognising staff and the customers that raise money for CHIPS – such a worthy cause.”

“David Hamilton has been great today and our staff and customers have loved listening to him live on Jackpot FM,” said Chris Drake, Head of Interactive for Cashino and Beacon Bingo.

“David did a fantastic job of thanking colleagues and customers who work so hard to raise money for CHIPS, which is so important as the money is going to such a good cause which does so much for disadvantaged children.”

‘Diddy’ David Hamilton started his broadcasting career in 1959 with the British Forces Network in Germany, and has hosted over 12,000 radio programmes and more than 1,000 TV shows. He got the nickname ‘Diddy’ David Hamilton which was given to him by the famous British comedian Ken Dodd. Currently, he is regularly heard on BBC Radio Devon, BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey.
