Rail disruption because of signalling failure

London Midland rail services are being hit by a signalling failure this morning.

The London-Birmingham service is one of the routes affected. This line includes stops at Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring, Leighton Buzzard, Bletchley and Milton Keynes.

Other routes affected include the Birmingham New Street - Birmingham International shuttle run, the Cross City North (Birmingham – Lichfield) service, the Cross City South (Birmingham – Redditch) route, Walsall/Rugeley services, Wolverhampton/Walsall services, and long-distance services passing through Birmingham New St.

A London Midland spokesman said :“We apologise to all our passengers who will be affected by this signal failure.

“We are working to minimise disruption so that we can start running a full service as soon as Network Rail has repaired the fault.

“If passengers experience delays of 30 minutes or more we encourage them to claim delay repay compensation. Full details on how to claim are available, along with the latest travel information, on the London Midland app and our website www.londonmidland.com”
