SHOPPERS in Milton Keynes can raise more than festive cheer this Christmas week by supporting a national charity appeal.
Visitors to the Asda Supermarket at Wolverton can do their bit for national charities and children’s hospitals by simply picking up a Text Santa Christmas hat, priced at £1 each, along with their seasonal treats.
Money raised from these dedicated products will go directly to the Text Santa appeal - which was launched this year as a way of raising awareness and money for the most vulnerable people in the UK during the festive period.
Members of the public are being encouraged to raise money for these worthy causes through text donations and other fundraising activities in the run-up to Christmas.
The appeal has been backed by a number of high-profile celebrities and will culminate in a live television show on Christmas Eve.
The Text Santa appeal is working on behalf of a chosen group of five national charities and four hospitals for sick children. The confirmed charities which cover all corners of the United Kingdom are Carers UK, Crisis, Help The Hospices, Samaritans and WRVS.
Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity, Helping Hand, Noah’s Ark Appeal and the Yorkhill Children’s Foundation will also benefit.
