stadium:mk welcomed a record number of fans from all over the world celebrating the Rugby World Cup in Milton Keynes.
Last night, 28,145 rugby fans turned out to watch the first of three matches being held in the city.
Commentating on the France v Canada match, ITV4’s Martin Gillingham said: “I know the world cup is about the big shiny stadiums - Wembley, the Millennium, Twickenham, - but it’s also about night’s like this.
“Taking it around the country to stadiums for folk who don’t always get to see top flight rugby.
“This is just magnificent.
“stadium:mk is a wonderful ground and it’s full to the rafters tonight.”
