The festive period is traditionally the season for giving, but it’s also an opportunity to give something back.
One way you could help is by recycling all your aluminium foil packaging and aluminium drinks cans left over from the new year party and support the Milton Keynes Christian Foundation at the same time.
Not only will you be helping this worthwhile cause, but you’ll also be doing your bit to help the environment too.
The Milton Keynes Christian Foundation is a local charity that works primarily with young people and young adults who are outside education, employment and training.
Over the years it has developed work in relation to a wide range of community and environmental issues and the collecting of aluminium packaging and cans is one such project.
All residents need to do is make sure the recycled waste is included in their pink sacks and put out for the kerbside recycling collection by the council.
Aluminium is 100 per cent recyclable, so all aluminium foil such as mince pie cases, dairy lids, wrapping foil and takeaway trays can be placed out for collection. The foil needs to be wiped or rinsed clean, but waste should not include any non-aluminium crisp packets.
These may be shiny and look metallic but are actually plastic film.
