A RESTAURANT in Milton Keynes is launching a competition to find the most alternative ‘mince’ pie filling.
Traditionally packed with raisins, cinnamon, lard, beef suet and brandy, the mince pie needs a ‘shake up’ according to Red Hot World Buffet & Bar.
The restaurant, based in the Theatre District, is inviting customers to get creative and come up with an alternative mince pie filling. From chicken tikka, marshmallows and king prawns to turkey, cranberry, brussel sprouts and liquorish allsorts, the possibilities are endless.
The deadline for entries is Friday, December 16 and each entry will be judged by the team of chefs at Red Hot, before the winner is announced on December 19.
Restaurant Manager, Sunil Ganpati said “We want customers to come up with weird and wonderful fillings, the funnier the better but we also want to make some of the entries as well. Our chefs will pick the winner and serve the winning one over the Christmas period.”
