Reduced household waste and recycling

A REDUCED household waste and recycling operation has been in place over the last few days after freezing conditions hit the city.

Crews have been monitoring road conditions to ensure it is safe fgor them to operate.

Recycling and food and garden waste collection has been taking place on the main routes in the city.

The collection teams are working with gritting crews to make sure they can reach as many places as possible and residents are being asked to put their recycling out on the normal day.

A council spokesman said: “Extra vehicles will be being used where possible and we can assure residents that we are doing all that we can to maintain collections, and we thank residents for their patience and understanding during the current weather conditions.”

The waste teams were out this morning, but it is unclear what effect the latest blanket of snow will have.
