This week, residents living in the Lakes Estate in Bletchley will have an opportunity to vote in a referendum on the Lakes Estate Neighbourhood Plan.
The question which will be asked in the referendum is: “Do you want Milton Keynes Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for the Lakes Estate Area to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
Only residents who live in the Lakes Estate will be able to vote in the referendum.
> Residential Referendum
A person is entitled to vote in the residential referendum if, on September 17 2015, they are registered to vote at an address in the Lakes Estate area.
The polling station for the referendum will be at the Lakes Estate Community Centre, Fern Grove, Bletchley, MK2 3QF and the polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm.

A number of “specified documents” have to be published; these provide information about the Lakes Estate Neighbourhood Plan and the Planning system in general.
The specified documents include: A copy of the Lakes Estate Neighbourhood Plan, updated to include the changes recommended by the independent Examiner
> The report of the independent Examiner
A summary of the responses to the submitted Plan
A statement by Milton Keynes Council that the draft plan meets the basic conditions and complies with the relevant legislation:
A statement that sets out general information about Town and Country Planning, including neighbourhood planning and the referendum (information for voters)
