Religion fills city stadium

WHILE thousands prepared for a new season of football worship, this mammoth group found an alternative use for the stadium:mk.

The venue was filled to capacity with Jehovah’s Witnesses, who raised the roof with songs instead of football chants.

The group hired the stadium for its regional weekend convention and 8,943 Witnesses travelled to join in the prayers, study and even baptisms, said spokesman Mark Williams.

“The stadium management were very impressed by the organisation of our attendants and welcome us back next year,” he said.
