Community-spirited residents in Great Linford have rallied round in a seasonal appeal to help their favourite community bookshop.

When The Little Bookshop recently needed help, a group of customers and supporters stepped in.

And last month, they presented a cheque for £1,064, raised through crowdfunding on the JustGiving website. Supporters also added to this with cash donations to the shop.

Dave Longstaff, who set up the crowdfunding appeal, said: “I had to retire early due to ill health. The Little Bookshop has been a lifeline, giving me a lot of help and support, which I hope will continue.

“It provides community-based care and attention to a lot of people who find the friendly atmosphere so welcoming.”

The Little Bookshop, in St Leger Drive, is a not-for-profit project, set up with help from Milton Keynes Community Foundation, and supports a wide number of community activities in the area.
