An Indian restaurant that opened ten months ago has been forced to close after the landlord doubled its rent charges.

B-Town on Grafton Gate will shut up shop on Saturday, it was announced this morning.

Owner Mo Abdul called for people to continue to support independent businesses, but said it was “impossible” for B-Town to stay open.

Mr Abdul said: “Sadly, the rent has been increased to over double which means an independent business like B-Town cannot survive in Central Milton Keynes.

“We would like to thank our customers and partners for their support over the past year, we have some incredible memories and have had a great fun on our short journey.

“This will be the end of B-Town but not the end of those that put the passion into it.

“We would like to encourage Milton Keynes’ people and the authorities to support independent businesses in Milton Keynes as we believe in variety and a personal service.”
