EXCITED Busy Bees youngsters are enjoying royal recognition after receiving a letter from Buckingham Palace.

The children from Busy Bees at Milton Keynes Hospital designed and made birthday cards and sent them to the Queen to celebrate her 86th birthday.

This was particularly interesting for the tots as they have been learning all about the Queen this year in preparation for the Jubilee celebrations next month.

The children (and the staff!) were thrilled when the postman delivered a letter that had the Buckingham Palace Royal Seal on it.

The letter was then read aloud to the children.

They discovered that the Queen’s Lady-in-Waiting was writing to express the Queen’s thanks for ‘all the splendid cards which you have made for Her Majesty’s 86th birthday’.

The letter went on to explain that the Queen was very pleased with the cards but that, of course, she unfortunately cannot reply to everybody personally.

Nonetheless, the children and staff were impressed with their Royal Seal of approval.

They posed for a quick photograph with their special correspondence.

The picture shows Tyson, 3, Miami, 2, Rhys, 4, William, 4, and Beatrice, 20 months, with members of staff from Busy Bees at Milton Keynes Hospital and their letter - with a Windsor Castle crest.
