Royal seal of approval protects Milton Keynes playing fields

A set of playing fields has been safeguarded from future development - and has been given the Royal seal of approval too.

Milton Keynes Council has signed a deed of dedication for Woughton Playing Fields. This is part of the Fields In Trust Queen Elizabeth II initiative, which is run by the National Playing Fields Association.

It means that the site, which is the largest multisport outdoor pitch site in the borough, will be protected for use into the future by dozens of local sporting teams and organisations, as well as the general public.

Mick Legg, cabinet member for public realm, said: “Milton Keynes has an enviable amount of sporting facilities, including public playing fields, and we need to safeguard our playing fields for future generations.”
