Runaway mental health patient is found 40 miles away from MK

A man who absconded from a mental health hospital while he was let out to volunteer in MK has been found.

Police had warned the public not to approach Christopher Brown, 43, who failed to return back to Chadwick Lodge in Eaglestone on Thursday.

He was found late on Friday night more than 40 miles away in Oxford.

Mr Brown, who is under the care of Chadwick Lodge, left the facility at 8am to attend a voluntary placement in Milton Keynes.

He did not return as planned at 2.20pm.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: “We would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in locating him.”

Mr Brown was the second patient to disappear from Chadwick Lodge in recent months.

Malcolm Millman, 58, went missing on a day trip to a Buddhist monastery while being detained at the medium secure facility in Eaglestone in October.
