A SERIES of improvements to Shenley Church End Local Centre will see the introduction of new shops, a new car park layout and the mending of the centre’s clock.

Other changes detailed in plans submitted to Milton Keynes Council include installing an ATM and making the area visible from the main road. Sainsbury’s is set to take on the largest of the centre’s retail units, which would open in October.

Jenny Strathern, commercial manager at The Parks Trust, which submitted the plans, said: “We’re very excited about the plans for Shenley Church End which will offer an improved local centre for our tenants and for customers. It’s great to have Sainsbury’s on board as having a strong retail anchor is essential for the future of the centre.”

The new store will replace the existing Netto when its contract runs out in June.

Jenny added: “We have worked closely with Netto and did give them the opportunity to renew their lease but, , they were not in a position to do so.”
