Eight Santander employees from the bank’s Milton Keynes head office are set to embark on a Mount Everest mission to raise money for charity.

The team head to Nepal on October 4 and hope to raise £87,000 for CLIC Sargent, the bank’s Charity of the Year.

In total 25 employees will be taking part in the gruelling 119km trek to the base camp of Everest.

Sean Maher, social media and communications manager at Santander, said: “We are all really looking forward to the trek. We know it’s going to be tough work so we’ve been putting in some hard hours of training for it.

“However, it’s for a really good cause, so the blood, sweat and tears will be well worth it.”

CLIC Sargent help ensure children and young people with cancer receive care and support when they need it most.

Lisa Whittaker from CLIC Sargent said: “We’re delighted with the enthusiasm and the commitment being shown by the employees from Milton Keynes.”
