Santander staff help refurbish play area

Five members of staff from the Milton Keynes' Santander branch took time out of the office to help staff and companions at Emmaus Village Carlton to refurbish the children's play area in the Iola Newman Building, which is home to the charity's shops.

The Santander team not only gave up their time to complete the project they also provided the funds to make it happen.

Emmaus Village Carlton’s Community Leader, Helen Jago said: “The children’s play area is an integral part of the retail experience at Village Carlton; we want customers to enjoy their time here including the children. We really appreciate the time, effort and funding given to us by the team from Santander”.

Commenting on the day, the Santander Business Controls Manager, Ian Burley said: “It was important to have the opportunity to help an organisation that provides important services for others. Valuable insight, valuable day.”

Kim Bishop, Business Controls Manager added: “Thoroughly enjoyable day – win-win situation, contributing to the community and also a good team building exercise”

Matt Cross, Business Manager found the experience: “Extremely rewarding and enjoyable, I was particularly impressed by the passion and enthusiasm displayed by all staff and companions on the day.”
