EVER since proposed cuts at Milton Keynes Council put Stony Stratford Library under threat, campaigners have been mounting a constant fight to save it.
Organised by the Friends of Stony Stratford Library (FOSSL), the campaign gained national media coverage when its ‘Wot, No Books’ project saw library users empty the building of books in an effort to show just how popular it is.
Since then thousands of people have signed a petition asking for the library to be kept open, while a range of ‘Save Stony Library’ mugs, t-shirts and bookmarks are also on sale at Odells.
And today (Saturday, January 5) the library is holding a read-in between 11am and midday.
Our exclusive video catches up with some of those behind the campaign and regular library users – all of whom want to ‘Save Stony Library’.
