High winds are believed to be the cause of a dramatic scaffolding collapse in Stony Stratford this afternoon.
The steel and wooden structure came crashing down in the High Street, outside Timor Court, and landed on the pavement and the road.
Miraculously nobody was injured.
“It was a huge crash and people were running out of shops to see what was happening,” said one eyewitness.
“Some of the scaffolding landed on a van that was parked nearby, but luckily it did not hit any pedestrians.”
The High Street was closed while the wreckage was cleared.
