Five homeless men were given a glimpse into Parliamentary life thanks to MP Mark Lancaster.

Mr Lancaster invited the group, from the Orbit Heart of England, after he had paid a visit to Fishermead Hostel’s temporary accommodation in April where he was given a guided tour.

The residents expressed such strong enthusiasm to find out what the MP for Milton Keynes North did in his Parliamentary role that he invited them along to gain a better insight.

Kath Chiles, Orbit Heart of England support provision manager, said: “During Mr Lancaster’s hostel visit we stopped at a picture on the wall of the Houses of Parliament, and he pointed out his office.

“This led to discussions about his role and the workings of Parliament, and an invitation to London for our residents to see it for themselves.”

Resident, Jonar Ullah, said: “I was very impressed with the time Mark Lancaster spent with us, he even bought us all coffee and sat down to chat. I really enjoyed the day.”
