Sculpture Gallery presents the magic of opera by candlelight

Three of the leading lights in international opera will be presenting a dramatic musical programme as part of The Sculpture Gallery's dynamic series of evening events.

As conductor Björn Dobbelaere, Soprano, Bridget Costello and tenor, Marcus Liljedahl, perform with a 21 piece orchestra in a night of classical music and fine dining on May 19.

Björn has enjoyed a diverse and successful international career and has conducted programmes with classical, pop, musical theatre and opera.

As music director and music supervisor for Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Björn has been involved with world famous productions like Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Miss Saigon, as well as many others throughout the world.

Swedish tenor, Marcus Liljedahl will sing alongside New Zealand soprano, Bridget Costello bringing to life some of the most popular arias and duets in the operatic canon, from Mozart to Verdi.

The black tie event starts at 7pm and tickets cost £70.00 per person.

This includes reception drinks and canapes, a three course candlelit dinner with coffee and musical entertainment featuring the Altamira Orchestra led by Robert Atchison.

Ahead of the upcoming performance, operations manager at The Sculpture Gallery, Ian Turland said: “The Sculpture Gallery offers a variety of musical events throughout the year.
