The best starters, mains and desserts in Milton Keynes are being sought – and you can vote for your favourite.
The categories are just three being competed for as part of the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards, which is backed by this newspaper.
The awards aim to honour the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs, gyms and destinations in the city.
Its remit goes beyond simple food and drink with gongs up for grabs for the best waiter or waitress, best hotel and the top attraction.
The 2013 awards will be held at Jury’s Inn in Central Milton Keynes on Sunday, May 12.
To vote in this and any of the other categories, people should visit the food awards website at www.mkfla.co.uk
Meanwhile, the search goes on for the ‘Official Dish of MK’.
While many towns and cities have their own special dish – Melton Mowbray pork pie, Pontefract cake, the Bedford Clanger – Milton Keynes does not have an instantly recognisable favourite food.
Milton Keynes Food Awards has joined forces with city tourist experts, Destination MK, to launch the search for the ‘Official Dish of MK’. The organisers are asking restaurants, pubs and cafes to come up with their own MK main, whether it be Cow Pie or a roundabout roast.
A shortlist will be featured in the Citizen, with readers invited to vote for their favourite.
