And with thousands of shoppers flocking to intu Milton Keynes, the charity gift wrapping station was a welcome site for many.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Steve Coventry, got into the Christmas spirit -and some gift wrap - on Friday for the launch of the wrap station, which will be next to the customer information desk next to Debenhams until Christmas Eve. Eleven charities are involved this year, including Advantage Africa, Age UK Milton Keynes, Hope for Hollie and Citizens Advice who are all helping at the station to raise money for their charity.

Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes, says: “It was great to have The Mayor with us on Friday to officially launch the gift-wrapping station. We were thrilled with the success of the station last year and hope to meet, if not beat, last year’s donation total.”

Last year, more than 3,500 presents where wrapped and in excess of £9,000 raised for the charities involved. With 100% of the money raised going to the charities taking part, it was a huge success and invaluable support which can hopefully be repeated this year.
