See what prisoners at Woodhill jail will be tucking into this Christmas

Prisoners at Woodhill will be tucking into a festive feast with five different choices of menu on Christmas Day

They will be offered the traditional roast turkey, complete with pigs in blankets, stuffing, sauté potatoes, sprouts, carrots and gravy.

Or they can opt for baked salmon in a dill sauce, complete with all the trimmings. Other vegetarian options are Nut Wellington or baked cauliflower cheese.

Finally there is a Halal option of half a roast chicken with vegetables.

All this will be followed by Christmas pud with vanilla sauce or an alternative dessert of fruit.

The Prison Service said the festive menus were prepared at no extra cost as they were funded out of existing catering budgets.

Woodhill runs food forums all year round to ensure the food goes down well with inmates.

Special menus are prepared to support religious festivals and during Ramadan Muslim prisoners are employed in the kitchen specifically for the preparation of their food.
