Shona’s Bollywood dance lesson is an inspiration for youngsters

A TEENAGE Bollywood dance teacher wowed children at a junior school by showing off some of her moves.

The April 18 visit to Silverstone Junior School was the third consecutive year that Milton Keynes based Shona Shah has met pupils at the school.

The 15-year-old taught 23 youngsters some basic dance moves, before giving a demonstration of her own skills.

She said: “I really enjoyed teaching the children of Silverstone Junior School Bollywood dancing.

“They are always very energetic and truly engage in my class. They were very excited when they could understand the dance moves that I was showing them, some of which they had learnt in the class themselves at school.

“They are always a pleasure to teach and I love the eager smiles on their faces when we move onto a new step in the routine. This was my fourth workshop at Silverstone, and I hope this continues to be an annual event.”

And teacher Tara Jones added: “Shona is fantastic with the children. Always professional and inspirational.

“I am always amazed at how much the children learn in such a small amount of time. The children are all very attentive, enthusiastic and eager to learn the next bit as well as watch an excellent performance from Shona herself.

“This is a brilliant way of getting children into a different style of dance and many of them show a real flair. I was thrilled Shona could come again for a fourth year and I hope to have them back again next year.”
