Shoppers flock to Centre:MK for Black Friday bargains

Retailers at Intu Milon Keynes had up to 70 per cent discounts on selected stock this Black Friday.

Shoppers flocked to the centre in their hundreds to bag these amazing offers.

Queues wrapped around the inside of popular stores including John Lewis, House of Fraser, Hollister and Debenhams.

A fragrance counter employee at Debenhams, said: “It has been really busy this morning - honestly so many people are snapping up the offers.”

The introduction of Black Friday into UK shops has been a recent change, but it is expected to last.

The big discount offers on the last Friday in November rakes in almost £2billion nationally.

But Kevin Duffy, director at the Centre MK shops said: “Two years ago there was a real frenetic activity and people fighting over TV’s and that sort of stuff.

“So last year it was much more sedate affair and Black Friday became Black weekend, and this year its become Black five day so its going over maybe six days.”

One shopper, said: “I was waiting for half an hour in TopShop to buy a 20 per cent off scarf - it’s so crazy for a Friday lunch time.

“But I think the biggest queue I saw was outside Greggs.”
