To celebrate Milton Keynes 50th Birthday, Community Learning MK launched a competition challenging writers to create a story set in Milton Keynes.
With over 40 entries so far, the final chapter is on the horizon as the April 21 deadline nears.
Inspiration for a story can be found anywhere in Milton Keynes, the Victorian rail workers of Wolverton, a war classic in Bletchley, or driverless pods set in a sci-fi scene in Central Milton Keynes.
Anyone over the age of 14 can enter as long as their story is set in Milton Keynes, does not exceed 1050 words and is submitted before April 21.
The stories will be judge by local authors, Carole Matthews, named ‘The Sunday Times Best Selling Author’, Karen Guyler and Scott Dorward.
The judges will choose a first prize winner and two runner ups from two categories, the 14 – 19 group and the 20+ group.
Entrants who really impress will be in with a chance of winning 100, £50 or £25 and have their stories printed in an anthology of MK stories for purchase later in the year.
