Should supermarkets and fast food restaurants take more responsibility for rubbish?

Overflowing bins and litter blowing across the ground has become an all too familiar scene outside supermarkets and fast food restaurants these days.

Should those businesses take more responsibility for the rubbish? Or does the blame sit firmly with those who dropped the litter or tried to pack something into an already full bin in the first place?

This short video taken outside of the ASDA superstore in Bletchley is just one example of litter painting a rather unpleasant picture of an area.

That particular supermarket is probably no better or worse than any other in Milton Keynes, or any fast food restaurant for that matter.
