ELDERLY residents are up in arms after artwork depicting their battle to have insulation added to their homes mysteriously disappeared.

The pensioners, from Burtree Close in Stacey Bushes, have been complaining to Milton Keynes Council that their houses are unfit for the freezing winter conditions and during December they enlisted the help of charity Make a Difference – MaD.

One of it’s members, a 14-year-old boy, created a sign including the words ‘Frozen Pensioners, order urs now’ and hung it in the estate.

Shortly afterwards council housing boss Chris Williams pledged to personally oversee a repair programme for homes throughout Milton Keynes.

But the banner disappeared in the New Year and resident Sonje Plain, 65, said: “It is a massive shame that it has happened though because the young man had taken the time to make it for us through Make a Difference.”

She urged whoever had taken it to return it to MaD, which is situated at the Milton Keynes Buszy in the old bus station.

Sonje added: “They do such a great amount of work there and if you pay them a visit you can see for yourselves that they have a fantastic art gallery which is filled with pieces supplied by some very talented people.”

If you have any information you can call MaD on 01908 231312.
